Western Digital Data Recovery

The Western Digital hard drive is very widely used and generally regarded within the industry as a very reliable and exceptionally well-performing drive. Many of the leading PC manufacturers, such as DELL, use these hard drives in their computer systems due to their high specification design and superb quality of manufacturing.

However, in recent times, our technicians have seen a number of Western Digital hard drives fail due to system-area corruption or more commonly known ‘firmware’ failure.

This fault can be easily identified by the computer’s BIOS pausing or ‘hanging' for a period of time while the BIOS attempts to recognize the hard drive. Initially, the hard drive may still be recognized correctly. However, the performance of the drive and system will appear extremely slow and often unusable.

Eventually the drive will fail altogether and will no long be recognized by the system's BIOS.

The engineers at Fields Data Recovery have developed in-house software tools and techniques to allow us to recover data from these drives with this and other service-area, electronic and mechanical problems.

This has resulted in Fields Data Recovery achieving an overall success rate of over 85% for all types of Western Digital Hard Drives.

Below is a list of Western Digital hard drives that are commonly associated with service-area corruption.

“Fields did not ask for any money up front and they made every attempt to recover the data. Once the data was recovered it was up to me to decide if i wanted to pay for the service or not. It worked out really well. I got back all my data. Other data recovery companies were asking for money up front. Thank you to all at Fields.” - Nimesh Patel, The William Harvey Research Institute
