On 25 April 2004 a backpacker returned from a round-the-world trip to discover that the iPod to which he had saved all the photos of his trip were now inaccessible. Naturally, he was devastated to find that months of work was now lost. He had not realised that the iPod would re-format itself when he installed image-viewing software. This recovery required various software and two different recovery processes to recover the image files. Within 24 hours we successfully recovered all his photos, with which he later had a travel guide published.
